Euphemia

A little while ago i talked to a friend about resolutions. In fact you can read a wonderful post by her here.
I had but one resolution this year. One word.

Euphemia
And it means ~ "of good report"

Seriously? I made this resolution, this firm decision? I purposed to be of good report?

Me, the girl who lets time slip by unnoticed, whose room is often the messiest place in the house, whose mind wanders into the unknown when she should be studying, cleaning, or spending time in God's Word? The girl who loves her sleep, spending money on frivolity, and knows her movie lines far to well?
This word humbled me to the point of tears when i found it within the pages of this wonderful book.

Am I of good report?

"Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good report, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things." ~ Phil.4:8

The Word of God I think of as a straight edge, which shows up our own crookedness. We can't really tell how crooked our thinking is until we line it up with the straight edge of Scripture. ~ E. Elliot

What we say affects our eternal destiny.

Please comment with these in mind, and I look forward to your encouraging and edifying comments!
