lets start from the very beginning...

We are home after seven weeks of being abroad. Our first stop was France. We landed in Paris on June 13, met up with Aunt Jenn, and traveled back to Loches. We stayed in Southern France for ten days, giving us sufficient time to fall in love with the culture, the people, the roses, windowboxes, old doors, and history that surrounded us. We then made our way back to Paris, and explored the "city of lights." My favorite moment there was sitting under the willows along the Seine with Sarah and Charae, a macaron in my hand, my journal open before me, and my mind dwelling on God's greatness, goodness, and His mighty hand that had guided us thus far.

He truly guided us in the way we should go, and counseled us with His eye upon us. He led us all the way.

In my jet-lagged state, this is full of pictures with no explanation. This is just the visual story of our time in France. I struggle with trying to explain each one. The memories are in my heart, and putting them into words seems to take away from the preciousness of each one. {but Sarah found the words in her amazing blog post.} Perhaps someday I will find the words too, but until then...here is France from my eyes.

  2. Beautiful pictures, Kaytra! You did an amazing job capturing the feel of France with photos. The picture of the Eifel Tower with the bird flying above it is almost too perfect! (almost) :-)

  4. Having dear friends go on a seven week excursion abroad is almost as good as going oneself. ;-) And it's fun to see some familiar places--only touched by the beauty of summer instead of the beauty of winter. My favorites are the one of the red, red roses against the beautiful wall with the motorcycle propped in front and the street with the banners draped high across. They just capture a quaintness and loveliness that you would be hardpressed to find here in the States.

Keep up the posts! I love "reliving" it with you!

  8. Kaytra, so good to know you through your profile on the blogger. I am glad to stop by your blog "Scraps of reality" and the post on it of your visit to Europe with beautiful pictures. Those pictures are so beautiful. I was more taken by what you wrote about you under your blog " a girl who is living for Jesus and striving to please Him". I am more blessed by knowing the purpose of your life. Well I have been in the Pastoral ministry for last 33 yrs in the great city of Mummbai, India a city with great contrast where richest of rich and the poorest of poor live. We reach out to the poorest of poor with the love of Christ to bring healing to the broken hearted and to give new hope, life, future and purpose. We also encourage young people like you as well as adults from the West to come on a short term missions trip to work with us. We would love to have you come with your two other friends in the following summer to
work with us in the slums of Mumbai to bring healing to the broken hearted by becoming hands and feet of Jesus Christ. My email id is: dhwankhede(at)gmail(dot)com and my name is Diwakar Wankhede

The Word of God I think of as a straight edge, which shows up our own crookedness. We can't really tell how crooked our thinking is until we line it up with the straight edge of Scripture. ~ E. Elliot

What we say affects our eternal destiny.

Please comment with these in mind, and I look forward to your encouraging and edifying comments!
