Will you love Jesus more?

I just got back from an unforgettable trip to Oklahoma City. I was asked to be a bridesmaid in my dear friend Lizzy's wedding! It was a wonderful trip, perfect wedding, and there were unforgettable memories made.
But each time i come home from a trip like that...i always think: did I bring glory to God in my actions, attitudes, and words?
Alot of the time the answer is no in some area of the trip.

This song has been a blessing to me, and an incredible reminder each time I get on an airplane to see friends and make new ones.

I feel quite sure if I did my best
I could maybe impress you
With tender words and a harmony
A clever rhyme or two

But if all I've done in the time we've shared
Is turn your eyes on me
Then I've failed at what I've been called to do
There's someone else I want you to see

Will you love Jesus more
When we go our different ways
When this moment is a memory
Will you remember His face
Will you look back and realize
You sensed His love more than you did before
I'd pray for nothing less
Than for you to love Jesus more

I'd like to keep these memories
In frames of gold and silver
And reminisce a year from now
About the smiles we've shared
But above all else I hope you will come
To know the Father's love
When you see the Lord face to face

You'll hear Him say "well done"

I pray for nothing less
Than for you to love Jesus more.

  1. Love that song, too, Kaytch. It's such a good self-examination song, and it puts everything in perspective.... Reminds us what really matters through all life's fun times and vexations. :)

  2. I've never heard that song before, but I already love it! I love you you constantly evaluate your actions as before the Lord--you truly have the fear of the Lord! This is such an example to me--thanks!

  3. When you go into situations with that prayer already on your heart, it does wonders for transforming your actions! I've never thought it out so clearly as you do and this song does, however. Beautiful, crucial thoughts!

I need wedding pics! And yellow shoe pics! ;-)

  4. I love this song and during soccer, I thought of it A LOT. It was so easy to get caught-up in attempting to be good that it was easy to forget why I was playing.

The Word of God I think of as a straight edge, which shows up our own crookedness. We can't really tell how crooked our thinking is until we line it up with the straight edge of Scripture. ~ E. Elliot

What we say affects our eternal destiny.

Please comment with these in mind, and I look forward to your encouraging and edifying comments!
